Stephen Hawking (1942-2018)

Stephen Hawking is well known as one of the most intelligent people on the planet. Sadly, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 he passed away peacefully in his home at age 76. Hawking is admired by people and scientists everywhere for his theories about black holes and relativity. He has multiple published books that have been very influential in the scientific community.

Image result for stephen hawkingAt the age of 22, Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with a disease that would change his life forever. Lou Gehrig’s disease, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a nervous system disease that weakens muscles over time. When he was diagnosed, Hawking was told that he only had a few more years to live. Still, Hawking defied the odds and continued to live until age 76. He eventually had to be put in a wheelchair that had multiple devices attached to it that helped him with his speaking abilities.

The legacy of Stephen Hawking will live on in the minds of science lovers forever. Some have even referred to him as the Galileo and Einstein of modern times. He will always be remembered for his extraordinary mind and his passion for his work.
