Bringing Back the Black Hole

By Sarah Rinne, Reporter

Modesto High’s ASB Leadership class has recently noticed that less and less people are showing up to support our fellow panthers at their sports games. At some games, there have not even been enough students to have a Black Hole at all. This was a major issue, as the Black Hole is one of MoHi’s long-standing traditions. Some teachers even claim that Modesto High is completely losing its school spirit! In an attempt to end this problem, a group of students got together at Grace M. Davis High School on January 26th to attend the Davis vs. Modesto High basketball game.

The Black Hole was a success, and the students cheered throughout the whole game alongside the two new Black Hole leaders, Eligio Arroyo and Carson Hull (pictured to the right). Additionally, MoHi beat Davis in a landslide, and the final score was 30-71. Hopefully, after that successful night, students will be motivated to attend more games and support our school.

In order to have a continuously active Black Hole, the student body has to spread the word to their friends and go to games together.
