Jasmine López is currently a senior in the International Baccalaureate Program at Modesto High. This is her third year writing for the Panther Press and is very eager to share her stories. Other than writing for the school newspaper, she's an active member of clubs such as Project Hope, Panthers for Cure, Creative Writing Club, and PHAST. When asked what is the most important thing she's learned while being at Modesto High, she said, "The importance of coming together. I've realized that our school is successful because we come together. The power of people coming together to work towards the same goal is greater than we know." She attended a Dual Immersion K-8 school which is where her love of studying foreign languages developed. Entering high school she continued with her Spanish studies but also took up French. When not caught up with school work or extra-curricular activities, Jasmine can be found reading. She doesn't have a favorite genre because choosing one is just too hard! Some of her favorite books are Catcher in the Rye, House of the Spirits, and The Outsiders. Besides being a book fanatic, she's Disney obssessed. She could spend everyday watching Disney movies and at Disneyland. The best thing you could get out of life, Jasmine believes is to travel and get to know as many people as you can that will mold you into the person you're going to be. This is why she wants to study Marketing and International Business in university. She believes life isn't meant to be lived in one place, so in the future she hopes to be a Marketing Manager and work for an international company.
